HUSK LOVES - JIGSAW, SISTERS, PAPER

Catherine Swan's paper butterflies hand cut from vintage magazines, appear to be specimens from a nostalgic technicolor world perpetually fluttering between the 50's and 60's. Imbued with unlimited charm, Elizabeth Swan's framed jigsaw puzzles seem to take childhood fun and innocence and capture it forever."

I have been commissioned by the Historic Houses Trust to create paper butterfly collections using their archival papers - 18th Century wallpapers, sales journals from the 18th and 19th century, silk fabric from the 1960's. Beautiful special pieces for the new MINT gift store to be opened November 23rd 2009 at the Mint on Macquarie street. Paper Butterflies in Japan
Negotiations under way with Japanese Design Company MSY for distribution of paper butterflies in Japan...works featured in the GOALD - goal of design magazine.
